The dowdy, slow-selling Mercedes-Benz R-Class (you might be forgiven for thinking that R stood for Runt of the litter) has been given a new lease on life. It has a fresh front end, so being inside isn't necessarily the best way to enjoy an R-Class, which always used to be the case. Engines for the 2011 model include a 3.5-liter V6 gas engine making 268 hp and 258 lb-ft of torque, or a 3.5-liter turbodiesel V6 with BlueTec-good for 210 hp and a stonking 400 lb-ft of torque. All the better for transporting up to seven people.
