It looks like the United States will get a Volkswagen midsize sedan of its own, rather than the Passat available in the rest of the world. VW has released some sketches of the NMS, which stands for New Midsize Sedan. Let's hope the company expends a little more energy and imagination on the car than it has on the working title. VW calls the styling "progressive"-whatever that means. Word is that it will be made at VW's spanking-new plant in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and will go on sale in the second half of 2011.
