Who couldn't love a car with Magic Sky Control? This is an optional feature in the 2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK. It's a glass roof with added electrochromic ingenuity. By hitting a button on the overhead console, the driver can make the panel go dark or light. Says Mercedes-Benz: "The operating principle is based on the physics of a plate condenser (as if that explains everything -Ed). If the glass is subjected to voltage, particles in the structure position themselves so that light is able to pass through. If the voltage remains switched off, the particles position themselves randomly. This partially blocks the light and the glass remains dark." Yes, it has been tested in Death Valley and the roof can even block ultraviolet and infrared.
