Vorsteiner, a company known for designing and producing high-quality aero for high-end cars has released its newest creation the Mclaren MP4-VX. Didn't think the Mclaren MP4-12C could look any better? Using its latest clay modeling and digital modeling program, Vorsteiner pulled it off with flying colors. The package is not only for visual stimulus either The MP4-VX program is fully functional.
In respect to Mclaren, the Vorsteiner designers had no intention of ruining the existing MP4 bodylines. They simply enhanced it for a more aggressive finish. The designers took into consideration everyday drivability and functionality to cater to daily drivers. Vorsteiner's Business Development Manager Andreas Hartmann says: "Mclaren has always been a passion not only for me, but for Vorsteiner the company. And it was a goal to enhance the car for a long time. So finally we had the time to take on this project. We look towards what Mclaren has done. What kind of design language did they use? We looked at the P1 and we tried to basically blend the Mclaren design language with our own. And that's basically the combination results."
Mclaren has always been a passion not only for me, but for Vorsteiner the company.
Starting at the front, a carbon fiber front bumper with dual air duct system has been created using the latest dry carbon fiber pre-preg autoclave technology. Along with the new front bumper, Vorsteiner added side ventilation louvers to further aid in front end downforce.
At the back of the car you'll find a beautiful carbon fiber rear bumper that drastically changes the Mclaren's overall appearance. The rear bumper integrates dual ventilation louvers and a central vent opening that designed to dissipate the heat coming from the engine and exhaust. Also in the rear are new carbon and Kevlar reinforced composite diffusers. The tunnels were race-inspired to improve airflow, downforce, and to assist in engine cooling. The Mp4's profile features 4-piece carbon fiber side blades to give a sporty stance and to keep the car planted during high speeds. Using its latest 1-piece forged aluminum wheel technology, Vosteiner swapped out the OEM wheels for custom 20X9J and 21x12j wheels wrapped with 245/25/20 and 325/30/21 rubber.
"Start to finish it took us about 6 months. From the very first rendering, till the first production kit," says Hartmann. "Our product portfolio is very broad. We have small pieces for BMW and Mercedes, but we also want to cater to supercars. So it was a logical choice."
