The variety of Audis found at SEMA 2013 ranged from Le Mans race cars to R8s sporting the latest aftermarket goodies. SEMA is a huge trade show with a lot to offer, but Audis were scarce. Despite the limitation, we uncovered some real gems.
Some of the Audis we found were show cars, and others performance-oriented, but all of them were unique. We hope to see more of a variety next year, but until then, let’s drool over the following Audis of SEMA 2013.
AccuAir 2013 Audi S7
AccuAir bought this 2013 Audi S7 three months ago and has since logged 5000 miles of testing on it. The suspension was then taken apart for an air suspension system replacement that bolts directly in. As a result, the stiffness over stock was increased. The car has not been dynoed, but it has an APR Tune and claimed 560hp with a seven-speed sequential manual transmission.
According to AccuAir, the handling was improved by increasing the spring rings. BBI Autosport was contacted to build the exhaust system – a custom one-off, three-inch stainless steel exhaust system. For added performance, the lower catalytic converters and downpipes have been removed, so there is no restriction. Vossen Wheels and Toyo Tires equipped the car with a set of 21x10.5 wheels and tires to give the car an aggressive stance.
This S7 is meant to be a street and track car – taken to events such as the TunerGP featured in european car, primarily to show people what air suspension can do. Later in the year when it doesn’t have to be perfect anymore it will be taken to the track to get beat up – that’s when the real fun begins!
MagnaFlow 2013 Audi A5 Quattro B8.5
It’s not uncommon for MagnaFlow employees and their families to offer up a vehicle to be displayed at SEMA. This year at the MagnaFlow booth, a stunning blue and copper 2013 Audi A5 Quattro B8.5 dubbed #ProjectBlueCopper was showcased. It is equipped with an LS3 engine capable of 450hp and belongs to the wife of a MagnaFlow Director that uses it as a daily driver.
MagnaFlow, a company that produces aftermarket exhausts, outfitted the A5 with the company’s Cat-Back 2.5” Performance Exhaust System, custom MF dual split rear exit tips, and Direct Fit catalytic converters. The suspension was upgraded by BBI Autosport with KW Suspension V1 coilovers and SPC Performance front control arms.
The A5’s exterior features an APR Performance carbon fiber splitter, side rockers, and rear deck lid spoiler. It also has SD Wrap copper trim, Audi RS5 Singleframe mesh grille, and Audi A5 to S5 rear lower valance.
To complete the overall look, the A5 is sitting on Rotiform’s 20x10 SNA wheels and Nitto’s Invo 285/ 25ZR20 tires. The copper wheels and trim really helped the A5 stand out – it’s a daily driven show car that will have you coming back for a second look.
H&R 2014 Audi RS 7
The all-new 2014 Audi RS 7, which went on sale in the fall and carries a base price of $105,795 was displayed at the H&R booth. Its 4.0L V8 engine is capable of 560hp and 516 lb-ft of torque.
H&R, known for its suspension products, equipped the RS 7 with an electronic lowering suspension module called the ETS kit. The system is a plug-and-play electronic module that utilizes the factory suspension and allows you to lower the car anywhere from about an inch to an inch-and-a-half while still retaining all of the factory adjustability. The car also featured ADV.1 wheels finished in matte titanium, and Pirelli P Zero tires size 285/30ZR21.
The H&R team put together a nice package for the RS 7, without compromising its classy and sleek lines.
Wossner 2011 Audi A4
We almost missed this tastefully done Audi A4, which was tucked at the Wossner booth, but we are glad we didn’t.
The A4 features an S5 interior, Rotiform custom wheels, wrapped 3M silver-metallic mats, full Rieger body kit, AccuAir management system, custom audio with Morel speakers, custom Wossner pistons, APR intercooler, carbon intake and full exhaust.
Future plans include getting the A4 to the dyno. We inquired about the owner, and found that it’s a daily driver, which belongs to one of Wossner’s customers.
2004 Audi A4 Avant Wagon
This 2004 Audi A4 Avant Wagon was spotted just below the monorail at the Las Vegas Convention Center where SEMA was held. The Wagon features a pair of 444 Viair Compressors, 20x10 Ace Alloy Wheels, and has an all-manual system.
The proud owner is Ernie from Ace Alloy Wheels who also attended the Big SoCal Euro event earlier in September.
Below are additional Audis that we found throughout the show, and are worthy of featuring.
