Tokyo Auto Salon
Every year we like to kick things off with a trip to Japan to cover the Tokyo Auto Salon. It's normally a short trip and we get at least two hours of sleep every night, but that's because there's just so much to see and do. The three days of TAS is simply not enough to cover everything, and unlike SEMA, the show's open to the general public. Any true car enthusiast has to experience this event at least once.
Fresh Tokyo Car Meet
Before going to TAS, we like meet with the locals at our underground event called the Fresh Tokyo Meet. The scene is very different and you won't find any douchebags revving or doing burnouts. Here, respect is the name of the game.
Super Street Formula D Tech Day
In '16, we partnered up with our good friends at the Petersen Automotive Museum for our annual Formula D Tech Day meet. We don't really tech the FD cars anymore but we did manage to fill up the 700 spots in the parking structure - and fast!
Toyo Tires Calendar Launch Tour
Another event (or rather, events) we look forward to every year is our Toyo Calendar Launch Tour. Last year we had stops in Miami, Hawaii, and two stops in California that included San Jose and, of course, Los Angeles.
Super Street Las Vegas Car Meet
Our annual Super Street Retreat to Vegas is always a good time. This year we wanted to meet all of our Vegas fans by hosting a car meet at HNRS. We never imagined we'd fill up the parking lot, but we did just that. Thanks for the love Vegas - we'll see you in a few months! Maybe we can cruise the strip together this year!
We absolutely love Gridlife. Imagine a whole weekend of drifting, time attack, camping and live music. We went to both Midwest and Road Atlanta events last year, but it looks like the Gridlife staff will be throwing even more events in 2017.
If old-school cars are your thing, this is the event to go to. Southern California has a lot of car shows, but none of them will have as many classic Japanese cars as JCCS. Easily one of our favorite shows every year.
Street Neo Classics
This event is still pretty new, but believe us when we say it'll grow to be just as popular as, say, a Wekfest show. The Street Neo Classics car show is hosted by the group at JCCS and celebrates '80s and '90s car culture. Heck, even the parking lot yields an impressive lineup of cars.
This is our second time attending and it's seemingly bigger than before. The streets of Japantown in San Jose, Calif., are closed and filled with hundreds of cars and vendors. It has a unique award system that has no car judges, and instead relies on show sponsors to pick the winners. Trophy hunters stay home.
SuperiLL Inaugural Car Meet
Another highlight of the year was our apparel collaboration and car meet with Illest. It was a huge turnout as we filled the six-level parking garage at The Source OC. By the end of the night, we sold out of everything we had, from tees to stickers, to Jofel's mix tape.
