Slammed Society Details:
- Irwindale Speedway, CA venue
- Show in association with Formula Drift season finale
- Low N Slow and Royal Flush in attendance
- Kelvin Hsiu brings out his Do-Luck equipped Evo
Just when you thought you'd seen every car in the 2013 show circuit, the Slammed Society car show threw a curveball. It's not even the last event of the Slammed Society 2013 schedule - its last stop is in Guam this coming December. The Fatlace and Formula Drift collaboration is a match made in heaven because Fatlace never fails to deliver a good show and with a Formula D soundtrack of cars shredding the tarmac at Irwindale Speedway it simply couldn't get any better.
You had the usual suspects in attendance such as the Royal Flush team and the Low N Slow crew who brought at least 20 to 25 cars. "I love Slammed Society, it's a great place to congregate with old friends and make new ones. We pretty much worship each other's rides. Next year some of us want to move on to bigger cars so we will see what happens - either way bigger sick wheels are planned. My favorite car at the show was the Dodger Charger owned by Alek K. from the Low N Slow crew - sorry for being a bit biased, but not really sorry," said Milt Samanaca, president of Low N Slow.
One particular car that stood out was the white Mazda RX-7 on Volk TE37 SL Super Laps that are even lighter than original TE37s. We haven't seen our good friend Kelvin Hsiu aka "Baldy" and his Do-Luck-equipped Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution in quite a while. "I thought the show was good. It had a good variety of builds. My favorite car at the show was the white FD. As for my car, nothing new will be on it until SEMA, and next year I'm going to repaint it, suede the interior of the car, and do a full wire tuck on the fittings."
Usually car shows would have a long list of awards to give such as Best Acura, Best Toyota, Best Sound System, and even something ridiculous like Best Individual Throttle Bodies. But with the Formula Drift finale playing in the background there was no time for all of that. The Slammed Society kept is short and sweet. Here are the 1st place winners of the Slammed Society at Irwindale Speedway.
