One of the most coveted events of the year in the Mid-Atlantic region, Sumospeed's Springfest, always starts the season off with a bang. Many people look forward to the event, which may explain why it sells out so quickly. With three years of prior experience, Springfest IV was a huge success in regards to organization, quality cars, and good company. With roughly 700 registered show cars and more than 3,000 people flowing through the gates, it's hard not to agree. Once attendees finished sifting through the contestants, they found their way to a multitude of vendor booths, live music, and food vendors.
Definitely one of the more diverse meets, there was something for everyone to enjoy--from cars with a lot of go, to others with more show, and even more with both. However, a big trend this year was the growing female population--and not just walking around or sitting in the cars with the air conditioning on max-but actually building cars. It was a nice surprise to walk around a car, admire it, and then coming across a decal that says female driven.
