2014 Honda Civic Coupe
The ninth generation Civic may go down in history as one of Honda¹s biggest headaches but Honda made sure to get past that with its recent Civic unveil. After caving last year to criticism about the design of the then-new 2012 sedan, the 2014 coupe is now also receiving a major refresh like the 2013 four-door.
The platform’s nose and tail were reworked, and in Si trim there’s even more exterior differentiation, such as larger, 18-inch wheels and tires with new wheel designs. Inside tweaks like new seat fabrics, door panel trim and audio panel color coordination were applied to all models. Engine and handling performance have also been upgraded the Si in particular getting four more horsepower and lb.-ft. of torque and options like constantly variable transmission (CVT), Push-Button start and nav-ready “Display Audio” with seven-inch pinch, tap and swipe touchscreen are also available.
To the listening ears of tuners Michael Accavitti, Senior Vice president of Honda Automotive Operations said, “The tuner market can expect a lot of excitement coming from the Honda brand. We hear the customers. We are working as hard as we can to bring all of that stuff revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show here to this market [U.S.]. We want to bring as much of that fun-to-drive technology we have available around the world back here into the United States.”

On or off-road this corner killer is going to be the lust of many tuners in the market for a new whip.
Bucky Lasek, Subaru Rally America driver and pro skateboarder said, “I’ll be testing the new WRX out soon. We’re doing some promo stuff with it coming up very shortly. I think it was just time to bring the sedan in first. It’s just a matter of time before the hatch is brought out again though. They say the performance is up 40 percent on this one from things like a stiffer chassis. A lot of the stuff I fixed on my street car is already fixed on this new car with a lot of the bushing and stability stuff so it should handle a lot better.”
Tom Doll, President and COO of Subaru of America said, “With the 2015 WRX we wanted to dramatically improve the handling and overall drivability of the vehicle. This really is the best handling WRX we’ve had on the market. The thinking behind going back to a sedan was that the true performance driver wants to drive a sedan. Although we’ve sold a lot of hatches, we thought the sedan model would be more indicative to the performance-minded driver.”

The production of the i Series focuses on renewable and recyclable practices. From the carbon “Life Module” body created at BMW’s latest eco-friendly carbon fiber plant in Moses Lake, WA to decreasing the carbon-footprint on road is the name of the game.
Peter Miles, Executive Vice President of Operations BMW North America said, “The i Series is the beginning of a new trend in electric powertrains in the U.S. and California is the bleeding edge of that kind of technology. This is the bleeding edge of technology for us and the catalyst to expanding. It is the future of maneuvering ever-congested downtowns to the dismay of all of us big body fans.
Peter Miles, Executive Vice President of Operations BMW North America said, “I don’t think the i Series is going to become a significant proportion of the total sales for some time –10 percent of the total electric vehicles sold over the next 10 years would be a fairly big number. Our belief in producing the i3 and i8 is that we will take the leadership position in the premium segment because consumers will see we have taken a very holistic approach. It isn’t just about creating an electric-powered vehicle. From the factories that produce these cars that are powered by windmills to the carbon fiber produced in part by hydropower to the recyclability of whole car and the recycled plastics used in the interior/exterior, this car is beyond simple electro-mobility. It is the whole proposition from manufacturing process to the car itself to the recyclability of it.”
