GSR Autosport, located in Lake Forest, CA, provides everything from service to track support to engine builds and more for Porsche, Mercedes, and BMW vehicles. Michael Essa, GSR director of motorsports and 2013 Formula Drift champion, brought a customer’s C63 AMG to the GP. A 6.2L V8 engine with GSR long-tube headers and software tune powered it through the competition as the only Benz present.
Josh, GSR Autosport representative said, “I’m here at the dyno with Jason Sharek’s C63 AMG. It is a daily driver slash track car. We’re hoping to do really well at the road course. We just got done with some fender flares and wider rubber all around so with Essa driving we have a great shot.”
Results of the dyno where positive for the heaviest car in the competition – it tipped the scales at 4000 lb -- with a final horsepower rating of 499hp and 471 lb-ft of torque. Team GSR landed midpack in all categories but led the way in getting sideways when the pressure was off.
