Stay tuned for a more complete photo gallery of Tuner Galleria 2014, but first, I wanted to point out a personal favorite at this year's show. When I walked into the Chicago convention center this past Saturday, the gorgeous 2013 Subaru BRZ seen here was parked front and center. The Rocket Bunny Version 2 kit looked perfect in Subaru’s pearly white paint, plus the livery was something I could see Kei Miura of TRA Kyoto (designer of Rocket Bunny) applying on his personal car. It just so happens that Miura-san was invited from Japan as special guest of Tuner Galleria, so we could see how he felt about the Chicago-built BRZ.
I was there upon first inspection and Miura-san loved what he saw. He even blasted the car on his personal Facebook page. The owner of the BRZ, Richard Fisher aka “Fish”, had never met Miura-san and as you can imagine, it was absolute honor for him to have Miura admire his BRZ. When Fish finally got a chance to meet Miura-san at the show, even with the language barrier, it was clear the man behind Rocket Bunny was proud of Fish’s accomplishment and even signed the car to solidify his approval!
So back to the car itself… The livery was adopted after Fish saw some renderings online. It’s slammed using Air Lift Company air ride and the wheels are custom-made Rotiform LHRs measuring 18x9.5” front, 18x11.5” rear. Inside is kept simple with a Key!s steering wheel and Recaro buckets while under the hood is a Jackson Racing supercharger kit.
Not just a show car, Fish drove the car home in a blizzard after Tuner Galleria - he told me he drives it regularly every week. Fish plans to redo the livery so this might be the last time we see the car like this. But in my opinion, he nailed it and this Subaru BRZ with Rocket Bunny V2 kit is undoubtedly one of the sexiest we’ve seen to date!
