Las Vegas can be a disorienting yet enticing place to be. Where people from all over the world come to see casino lights dazzle the night sky. But for some it's not all about gambling, booze, and a platoon of hookers in a wraparound suite. For some, the thrill isn't on the strip, but 20 miles north at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway where Chris Naguit has been hosting MFest for the past nine years, hence the event name MFest IX.
The MFest itinerary has more or less remained the same over the years. The festivities begin at the crack of dawn on a Friday where enthusiasts gather at meeting points for the caravan segment to Las Vegas. While a concentrated number of drivers are from California, some came as far as Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Seattle, Virginia, Texas, Florida, and Canada. Over 150 drivers signed up for the drag racing portion later that evening where Chris Naguit put a spin on the traditional sport. After crossing the finish line the driver has stop in a designated box. Failure to do so resulted it in elimination. The next day was the car show and track portion. Row after row were unique BMWs and other popular European and Japanese models. On the third day the MFest enthusiasts wind down at a pool party, this year the hotel of choice was SLS formerly known as Sahara.
Chris Naguit, founder of Mfest, observes, " This year was definitely bigger from the past three years and we added our very first MFest barbecue dinner get together between all the participants and sponsors. We were able to connect with everyone share stories, network and brainstorm ideas for the future of Mfest. This year marks a much more structured and very improved event from previous MFest events."
With over 800 people in attendance Chris tells us that they are already looking forward for next years MFest X happening on April 22-24, 2016. MFest will also be expanding the tour across US and even other countries as well.
