Whether your spring break consisted of cleaning wheels, installing parts, or getting STDs, you know somewhere in California there was bound to be a car meet. While the Super Street team has no understanding what the word "break" actually means, we found ourselves stopping by Ace Alloy HQ, in Chino, Calif., for a spring gathering meet put on by our good friends at Tuner Evolution.
Tuner Evolution is a huge car show on the East Coast and we've been covering the show for years. 2016 is a particularly special year, however, since it marks 10 years since founder Jay Martinez launched the brand. Although his home is back east, Jay moved to California for a couple of months just to expand his network. When it was time for him to leave Cali, he decided to host the spring meet before he left. Car enthusiasts responded with a lot of support. "The turnout was relaxing and chill," explains Jay. "Everyone kept asking when was I going to do a Tuner Evolution in SoCal. That was the buzz all day."
Everything from VIP builds to tuner-centric cars filled up Ace Alloy's parking lot. Of course we gravitated toward the Nissan Skyline R32 with bronze TE37s. Our homies from Auto Fashion USA brought out a rad Scion FR-S dressed in Varis Arising II aero. But low-key, we were there just to see Kalita.
Would you believe this is Jay's first meet on the West Coast? We're excited to see what else he has in store for the rest of the year. Whatever it is, chances are it's going to be much better than what's happening in our sad cubicles.
