Nestled in between Wekfest Hawaii and Wekfest Japan this year was Wekfest Chicago, staged at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center in late April. The area holds a special place in the show's history, as it was the first city outside of California that organizers chose to put on their unique event celebrating the best of the best of the best in tuner show cars.
That was way back in 2011, and we haven't hit a Wekfest since San Jose last year, but this year we were pretty stoked to have our Detroit eyes and ears, Ryan Belville, take on the assignment of capturing the show. He came back with a gallery of staggering size and quality, in addition to a pretty quick and cool video overview of the proceedings.
Check out the eye candy coverage in its varying forms, featuring 400-plus pre-screened European, Japanese, and domestic aftermarket builds, the event's vendor row, and spectators/participants from all across the Midwest. The next Wekfest is our hometown stop, at Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, Calif., scheduled for May 28th. You can bet we'll have it covered, top to bottom!
