United by a mutual love of cars and their homeland, the Philippines, the Pinoy/Pinay Car Enthusiasts group was formed to serve as a positive influence in the automotive community, as well as unite, help, and inspire Filipinos worldwide.
Recently, the Pinoy/Pinay Car community teamed up with Team Topak Racing, TC Motoring International, Team Emperor, Autocraft LV, and Team Overdraft to take over Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif., for the inaugural PPCE National Event. The goal of the event was to raise money to build pumps and wells that will provide access to clean water for those living in rural and impoverished areas of the Philippines. Despite temperatures flirting with triple digits, the event was quite the success, attracting hundreds of cars and thousands of people from all over the Southwest.
Honda Tuning alum and longtime friend of the Super Street family, Leon Casino, took home the award for best exotic car award with his slick black NSX. Other big winners of the day included Tony Gee, who won best FRS/BRZ, Christopher Huynh who took home Best JDM with his R32 GT-R, and Bruce Amurao, who won best track-inspired vehicle with his wide-bodied EVO X.
PPCE founder and event organizer, Katrina Cortez, would like to thank all of those who attended to help support their cause. Keep fighting the good fight, Katrina!
