Growing up as a car enthusiast within a growing car culture, we know all too well what it's like to be "marketed" to. All too often we've seen brands disingenuously pander to our culture to sell us something (most of the time of low quality) and fail because they don't understand the type of people we are. It takes more than a scantily clad woman Photoshopped into a picture of two Civics street racing to get us interested in buying whatever a particular brand might be selling.
That is why we love it when we come across a brand that "gets it." It's not just about the visuals, the music, or the free stuff it gives away. Nitto Tire is a brand that seems to understand its audience quite well. It is because Nitto understands the culture that they put on events like Auto Enthusiast Day. Imagine a massive car show that features all types of makes and models - a show that includes imports, Euros, domestics, classics, trucks, and drifting demonstrations all in one giant celebration of car culture. Now, imagine if there was no cover charge to get into that party; that, in a nutshell, is what Auto Enthusiast Day is all about.
Why would Nitto put on such a massive show with an open invite for anyone and everyone while charging them nothing? Obviously, it earns the brand some brownie points with us, but after talking with some of the people behind the scenes, Nitto's team really is just like us. They dig cool cars and wanted to put on an event where said cool cars of all types can come together so people like us can enjoy them with our friends and families. All without having to spend more than a few bucks for parking.
In fact, Nitto has been hosting its Auto Enthusiast Day for three years in California and Texas. Recently, the event came back to California at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, so of course we braved the summer heat to fly our enthusiast flag and get some pictures for you guys. If you live in California or Texas, we would recommend checking out the next Auto Enthusiast Day event. If you don't live in one of the aforementioned states, contact Nitto about bringing the event to your part of the country!
