Osaka Border Line Car Meet

Osaka car culture at its finest

Apr 23, 2017

If you think Tokyo car culture is dope, the Osaka scene threatens to short circuit your brain with pleasure. In our recent journey to Japan, we made a daytrip to Osaka to check out Border Line Meet. Although it's based in Osaka, people as far as Kyoto normally make the trek out to the hidden underground rest area stop.

The meet was both eclectic and somewhat familiar. One of our favorite cars was the Rocket Buggy, a lifted Nissan S14 with a Rocket Bunny V2 body kit, but no doubt it was the KRC Modified Mazda RX-7 and Nissan Silvia S15 that were the showstoppers. Of course, car meets from time to time will attract a few knuckleheads that will do burnouts on the off ramp or speed through the aisles - and OBL was no different.

Supposedly the car meet is normally twice the size that showed up. Unfortunately a huge storm in Osaka was passing through that night. Maybe it's time for Super Street to host a meet in Northern Japan. Osaka Fresh Meet anyone?
