If you didn't wake up early enough to get to our Japanese Cruise In/Tech Day at the Petersen Museum, you were pretty much stuck finding a parking space on the surrounding streets, and of course you were also probably unaware the surrounding areas were under construction and the next block over had a farmer's market underway. It was a perfect storm of traffic hell.
Given this event's history, it was no surprise that the parking structure reached capacity by 9:00 a.m., and although there were hundreds of cars in attendance, these five were our favorites.
RICH MADLANGBAYAN'S DATSUN 240Z
We've featured this car before, but back then it was solid blue.. These days it wears a Gulf powder blue and Marigold Orange paint scheme any real racer will recognize.
JONNY GRUNWALD'S MAZDA RX-7
When you've had your fill on RE Amemiya, it's the TCP Magic body kit that will make you fall in love with the Mazda RX-7 all over again. Johhny's FD3S is quite possibly the coolest '90s JDM hero car on the streets right now. Yes, on the streets, since this is no garage queen and is actually street driven.
ENRIQUE MUNOZ'S TOYOTA SUPRA
Surprised to see this on here? You shouldn't be. With the help of legendary Supra builders Twins Turbo, Enrique's Supra is quite possibly the dopest Ridox Toyota Supra you'll probably ever see. If you missed the feature, you can find it here.
JOEL TAN'S NISSAN SKYLINE HAKOSUKA
It's easy to lust over modern day GT-Rs and R34s, but those cars wouldn't be here if it weren't for the original gangster Hakosuka. Joel Tan happens to rock a livery inspired by the Works Skylines back in its original hometown. Taking style cues from Japan, Joel sourced Victory 50 fender flares and coilovers to give it a proper stance.
LEXUS LFA NURGBURGRING EDITION
We don't know who the owner of this car is, but all we know is that he or she is balling out of control. You can add up all the cars and their mods on this list and the sum wouldn't be enough to purchase this LFA. And even if we did have enough money, only 50 units were made.
