Summer is winding down and the number of car shows on our events calendar have begun to thin out- especially in California. But let's be real, car meets usually continue throughout the year in the state where it never rains. The guys at iDL Design USA hosted their End of Summer Meet at IDL HQ in Irwindale, Calif., and as you might expect there was a huge turnout.
Darren Yoo, one of the founders of iDL, says, "iDl is built with a group of people that love cars. We all came from different business backgrounds doing car stuff as a hobby, but then it turned out to be our life. We are still new and most people think it's just a garage full of cool cars, but in reality we are always looking for that person with a vision. In the end we just love building cars and putting ideas together."
Car enthusiasts from San Diego to San Francisco, Arizona to Canada showed up to take part. "I think it was great. We had some heavy hitters in the tuning industry show up and support — even R-Rydes' G35 came out, which meant a lot to us since that car wins basically every car show as "best car overall" wherever it shows," Darren explained.
You also had the usual suspects, such as Steve Pham's Liberty Walk Ferrari 458, Robert Chew's Rocket Bunny NSX, and Scott Afters' Liberty Walk McLaren MP4-12C. We particularly enjoyed the sounds coming out of Herbert Barnum's Supra as well as Angel Rivas' R32 GT-S.
These are the same guys responsible for building some of SEMA 2016's greatest hits. We're just curious as to what they've got cooking for the rest of the year.
