Hondas of StanceNation SoCal 2017

The web and social sensation make its way to Anaheim, Calif.

There are dozens of stance-related blogs, websites, social channels and even product brands that have emerged over the past few years in the midst of the hostile, aggressive stance takeover. Some have fallen off as quickly as they began, while others, like StanceNation, have established themselves as an industry stronghold, carrying with it a nation of loyal fans and followers that haven't seemed to slow since its inception. Tap through to their website's "about us" and the very first thing mentioned is their mission is to promote aggressive wheel fitment. In addition, the motto is fashion over function, something that will choke up the purists, but seems to almost serve as a battle cry for a younger generation hell-bent on finding their idea of the perfect stance.

Transitioning from a web brand or blog to the organized car show realm has been done before, but rarely does it carry the momentum that StanceNation's shows current possess. Coming off of another event in Texas just a month prior, the group landed at Anaheim's Convention Center on September 17th and produced over 300 cars along with a handful of vendors, and they did it all via social media.

Walking into the convention center, you know exactly what you're getting into with a StanceNation event. Show and street cars with varying degrees of camber and wheel sizing are the prerequisite, while currently red hot trending widebody aero and massive rear wing fashion is following closely behind. The variety of vehicles on hand included import, European and exotics, and like any car show in SoCal, Hondas were definitely included in the roster.

Our web guru and occasional triggerman, Bob Hernandez, along with newcomer Jonah Licata, were on hand to take it all in and we've got the Honda/Acura attendees right here for you.

Not all of the cars in attendance possessed extreme wheel sizing and this Spoon-themed ITR and Voltex-equipped S2K are proof of that. Slightly spaced-out OEM UKDM ITR wheels and a JDM front-end conversion highlight the DC2, while Voltex aero and classic bronze TE37 round out the roadster.

Just because the focus is ride height and wheel sizing, don't think that there wasn't a taste of performance on the show floor as well. Take this Comp Turbo-boosted S2K for example. The custom turbo manifold features ideal turbo placement and relies on a hood-exit exhaust path.

We don't see many ILX builds day-to-day, especially with a touch of boost, a loud vinyl wrap, and Work rollers.

If not for the wide arches, this S2K's SSR MS3s would jut out well beyond the fenders and not look nearly as aggressive. A Spoon-style front bumper and carbon fiber side diffusers finish it off nicely.

You'll hear nothing but complaints about the pricing that surrounds the used NSX market, but nevertheless, the number of customized versions continues to rise.

Regardless of car show series or meet, this S2K would fit in just about anywhere. Matte blue ZE40s and StopTech calipers combine with a Mugen front bumper and widened arches for a clean, complete look.
