After taking a year off to sort out permitting issues with the venue, Accord Collective and WerdWerx rolled out the 2018 edition of the Cali Accord Meet in San Pedro, Calif., basically across the street from Point Fermin Park near the LA harbor. On an overcast Saturday, Accords of all generations came from as far away as Minnesota to hang out with like-minded owners of the Honda family hauler and check out a handful of insanely clean builds, like the CB7 of Ricardo Juarez and Fat Four Customs. A supplement of Odyssey minivans has been a growing presence at CAM, too, and this year was no exception.
It was an Odyssey that probably made the biggest news at CAM 2018, that of Tommy Fitzgibbon. We previously featured his vehicle in 2013 and since then it's changed ownership, winding up with Daniel Hill of WerdWerx (we wrote a piece on his CB7 in 2015 ) who's friends with Fitzgibbons. If our facts are straight, apparently Tommy never wanted to let go of the van but had to due to some unfortunate circumstances, and Daniel and others in the Accord Collective decided to secretly redo the van and give it back to Fitzgibbons. The refreshed Odyssey was presented to an unsuspecting Tommy at CAM, a heartwarming ending to a noble tale that we will have more about in the weeks to come.
Flip through the gallery to see what caught our eye at Cali Accord Meet 2018. If you happen to be in the Pacific Northwest and wanna check out some pretty fly local Accords, we suggest the Northwest Accord Meet which will be held August 20th at Griot's Garage in Tacoma, Wash.
