Euro Hangar is a huge-ass European brand car meet set at Park Township Airport near Holland, Mich. each June—this much you should know, if only because we brought you coverage in 2015, 2016, and last year. What we didn't know (and admittedly probably could've deduced) is that each year the airport tries to put on some form of aviation-themed attraction for attendees of EH to look up at—think aerobatics, open cockpit biplanes, that sort of thing. This year you would've found skydivers descending on the event, like Airborne troops parachuting in behind enemy lines.
Smatterings of Audi, BMW, Porsche, and others were mixed in amongst the largely VW affair, with Volkswagen joining the fun in an official capacity at their booth. Therein we spied the attractively loud 2019 Arteon R-Line sedan in all its high-visibility glory. This year, though, the place to point your gaze was the featured exhibits hangar; it boasted exceptionally clean versions of a Mk1 Jetta, Corrado, Mk2 Golf Cabriolet, and an Audi Quattro that looked primed for a gravel stage. Indeed, there were a lot of well-executed Mk2 Golfs throughout the show.
The car show (and overhead entertainment) isn't all that Euro Hangar has to offer; organizers encourage everyone in town for the meet to experience everything the area has to offer. This includes the shops, restaurants and breweries in nearby downtown Holland, in addition to the beaches along the shores of Lake Michigan. If you couldn't make it out to Euro Hangar this year, though, we got you covered with the next best thing, this gallery by our Midwest shooter-at-large Ryan Belville—enjoy!
