When it comes to modifying BMWs, Long Tran and his crew at LTMotorwerks (LTMW) are no strangers. Formerly known as LTBMW, the shop organizes an annual open house to allow customers to show off their latest projects and share some BBQ.

The most recent gathering was held on April 6, 2013 to introduce the new shop name to the world. These are always relaxed events, geared towards enthusiast, and not just for BMW owners.

Everybody was invited as long as they brought good vibes. There was free food, drinks and music provided, and most of the cars in attendance were modified by LTMW.

The quality of cars that attend are second-to-none, which is why this meet keeps growing each year. And 2013 was the biggest one yet, with approximately 800 cars packed into the available parking space.

Within five hours, all 600 hotdogs and hamburgers were cooked and eaten by the attendees.

One of the stand-out builds from the meet featured was Darren Yoo's WTCC-inspired BMW 335i sedan. Built by LTMW and in its latest phase of rebuild the car was barely finished a few hours before the show began.

The most noticeable change was the carbon fiber WTCC-style body kit from Vollkommen Design. Combined with blue anodized CCW Classic wheels and Toyo tires, it had a strong track-look.

The Voltex wing and custom exhaust screamed that the car means business since it now boosts 600whp and 550wtq thanks to Vishnu Performance Systems and FFTEC Motorsports.

This build is the Nth iteration of this car, which has gone through more changes than a kid playing in mud. It's a real testament to what LTMW is capable of when it comes to modifying BMWs.

This BMW 335i sedan was another recent LTMW project, which was finished just a few weeks prior to the meet. The custom body kit on the car was previously owned by Darren Yoo, after being designed and built by Long Tran and Darren.

The inspiration for the extremely aggressive rear-end was the Ferrari F599XX. When it comes to custom design, Long claims nothing is out of the realm of possibility.

This menacing BMW 335i was converted to a M3 widebody by LTMW. The BBS CH-R wheels add the finishing touch, giving the car a form-and-function look. It can look good on the street and perform great on the track.

This BMW 135i had almost all its modifications installed by LTMW before the shop even opened. The front and side splitters were custom pieces designed in-house.

This BMW 1M sports a full SLEK Designs carbon fiber body kit and belongs to the owner of SLEK. The car is running a set of HRE C20 wheels, custom finished by LTMW. Uniquely, this 1M is red - a color option never offered by BMW, so the owner decided to have the car vinyl wrapped by Precision Dynamix. Vehicle modification is all about uniqueness, and this relatively simple color change provides that.

Aside from the diversity and custom builds in attendance, there were plenty of cars that sported a more traditional BMW style. This clean sedans opted for a BMW and BBS wheel combo, which never gets old.

Having recently seen more BMWs running on aftermarket Japanese wheels, this 2012 BMW 328i sedan typifies the look on 19" SSR SP1 wheels. Not to mention, the F30 is an ongoing project for LTMW.

The car features an OEM BMW M6 front bumper along with 1M fenders modified to fit the car perfectly, looking as if the 328i came that way. Be sure to look out for this car in the future for more innovative LTMW modifications.

The meet wasn't exclusive to newer vehicles. Many older-generation BMWs attended, such as the BMW E36, which is an old school design but still sought after and modified by many. Similar to fine wine, the E36 chassis just gets better with age.

It seems that more BMWs are trending away from traditional suspension and going with alternatives. This BMW 5 Series is dropped on Air-Force air suspension, while the 3 Series coupe has gone with Ksport coilovers, Ground Control camber plates and Megan Racing control arms.

This E39 BMW 5 Series wagon had a simple setup with Rotiform SNA wheels.

Several vendors came to support the show and raffle their products, including KW Suspension, ST Suspension and Nitto Tires. Meanwhile, LTMW generously gave away free paintwork and installation vouchers.

It's crazy to imagine that this shop started in Long Tran's home garage less than seven years ago. Hosting these meets goes to show he's still an enthusiast at heart and the LTMW team does it because they love the scene. Hopefully, we'll see you there next year.
