We can't forget our friends in the North. For years, the only time we encountered Euros from providences like Ottawa, Ontario and Quebec was when they journeyed to events like Waterfest and H2O International. But VAGKraft is putting Canada on the radar with its fourth annual show.
Davide Lodovichi, Claudio Renini, John Di Battista and Kris Paule organize the show in their hometown of Toronto. This year, VAGKraft moved to Downsview Park - a location four times larger than the previous venue, enough to accommodate the 300+ cars and 24 vendors that displayed in August.
Unpredictable weather drenched the weekend with rain; but it didn't deter the spectators and sponsors from showing up to celebrate European tuning. More than 1000 spectators walked through the gates, on top of several hundred participating in the car show and vendor displays.
The event had plenty of activities, including the judged car show where over 100 awards were handed out. There was also an autocross, dyno and sound-off thrown into the mix.
The scavenger hunt and burnout competition were new for '10 and gained much attention. People were running around collecting points for the scavenger hunt, but the commotion came to a halt once the burnouts started and smoke billowed into the air.
VAGKraft was a great success despite the wet weather. The event wouldn't have been possible without the hardcore Canadian enthusiasts and sponsors such as The Source, H2Sport, Unitronic andMegawheelz. We look forward to see what happens next year, and hope for dry weather!
