What started out as a simple gathering of VW and Audi fans in a county park has turned into one of the largest European Auto Event in the Southeast. With the 2010 event once again attracting more than 1200 cars and more than 2000 people, FixxFest has continued to grow each and every year.

The Best of Class event correspondingly saw more contestants than ever before, with Best of Show going to Brett Diehl's '06 Audi A4. He also took home Best Wheels, Best Stance and Best 2006-up Audi!

For '10 the organizer Justin Welty added a few extra activities to keep masses occupied, including a tug-of-war and an impromptu dance-off. And with the event taking place the weekend before Thanksgiving, it seemed appropriate to hold a pumpkin-pie eating contest. Participants had to finish an entire pie without using their hands - the winner was close to puking before making a last effort and literally licking it off the table!

There was plenty of action on the quarter-mile as always. The strip was dominated by FixxFest title sponsors USP Motorsports from South Florida. Chris Green from USP managed several 10sec passes in his B5 Audi S4 sporting a VR6 12v turbo. And while a few came close, nobody could beat him.

There was also some racing action in the form of big-wheel event for adults. A small track was laid out and a final bracket of single-elimination head-to-head races narrowed down the winner of the FixxFest Big Wheel Race.

Once the racing and show came to a close, many attendees ventured over to the Cock and Bull for the official FixxFest 7 afterparty. As it happens, the trophies from the event were one-liter etched glass mugs that seemed to come in handy as beer containers before the end of the night!

Anybody who survived the ribaldry was treated to a Sunday cruise and BBQ courtesy of UroTuning at Fort Desoto Beach. In its second year, the cruise started in Bradenton and traveled across the famous Sunshine Skyway Bridge to the Beach. There aren't many places where you can BBQ at the beach in November!
