A super-sweet tee-shirt tan was in store for everybody at Irwindale Speedway for Dubfest 2011 as we glanced at the 500 Euros packed into the parking lot.
Sponsors like Accuair, Air Lift, Clutch Masters, ESM Wheels, Revo, fifteen52, Eurocode, Jada Toys, Miro Wheels, Supreme Auto and VMR had set up shop and were hosting some of the best rides. As we cruised the rows of VW, Audis and BMW, we came across some neatly modified cars.
Dion Inutan’s A4 quattro was sitting on air with a Kerscher body kit and shallower Euro rear bumper. In the trunk he had a custom sub enclosure with an Accuair set-up above. He has plans to complete the interior after daydreaming about modifications on the way down from Santa Barbara.
A Mk4 Jetta rarely brought to the shows was also spotted. Turns out its Alan Galvea’s project car built for his wife. After fitting some Rotiforms, it was stanced on an Air Lift XL Slam Kit and the interior was changed to GLI with Euro wrapped Recaros. Of course, the car has some go-fast parts including a tune from Revo for the K04 that blows through an Audi TT side-mount intercooler.
Dubfest wasn’t a purely show event, they put on two drag racing sessions on the eighth-mile for those who want to back up their blabber. The crowd seemed to enjoy races where the underdog scored, with a surprising win for a Mk6 GTI against a BMW 135i.
