S2000 forum guys always seem to be itching to get out and have some fun with their modern-day roadsters. In the middle of the summer, few places in the country are as nice as San Diego for cruising the topless wonder. The crisp beach air and sunny skies provided the perfect backdrop to this year's S2ki.com event. Many of the cars in attendance managed to break more than a few necks on their way down the I-5 freeway as bystanders gawked at high-end aero, low-offset rollers, and spotless paint along the coastal drive toward Mission beach.
Participants from San Diego and Los Angeles held a tournament to settle a friendly competition between the So Cal cities. Plenty of food and activities drew some of the attention away from the parking lot, if only for a short period.
The theme of the day definitely revolved around wide wheels and hard-to-find exterior pieces. From carbon rear diffusers to Mugen hardtops, the S2000 community has progressed rapidly over recent years. This is due in large part to the aftermarket support that appears to be busting at the seams.
As the day's events came to a close, most headed home to log back onto S2ki.com to find out when the next event would strike.
