Well known for being one of the largest import-specific events in the world, Import Alliance has become a staple in the import community. Aimed at any and all enthusiasts, including show car aficionados, track and street racers, and most importantly, the average street tuner, IA is the event that every East coaster is waiting for, with some even planning their project cars completion to coincide with this mega-meet.
While the summer meets previously took place at Nashville Superspeedway, this year a venue change was in order. Charlotte, North Carolina's ZMax facility played host, and as usual, a massive wave of imports, the majority of which were Honda, rolled through the gates in hopes of nabbing a solid spot amongst the crowds.
Ultra-clean engine bays stuffed with B, K, and J series swaps were in abundance, as were a high number of heavily modded S2000s. The show-stealer was without a doubt the bright yellow, immaculate K-powered Mazda RX-7! K-Tuned is to credit for the high performance mash-up that had Facebook users either digitally hi-fiving, or smashing their keyboards in disgust as they went down their long list of typical anti-Honda fodder.
A new location didn't slow the IA express down one bit, as participation and foot traffic was once again stellar. Keep tabs on the next big one from IA by logging onto their website at importalliance.org, or simply search "Import Alliance" on Facebook.
