The final show for the 2006 Hot Import Nights season rolled into South Beach Miami to cap off an already stellar year for HIN. Typically South Beach is known for its great weather but the Gods must have not been happy as rain and clouds dominated the sky all weekend long.
However, the poor weather turned out to be a blessing in disguise as scores of people made their way to the Convention center on the Saturday night and rammed the place full. They weren’t about to be disappointed seeing as the show floor was littered with some of the hottest show cars Florida and surrounding area has to offer.
A real showstopper was the blue wide body Honda S2000. This thing was sporting an authentic Amuse body kit, carbon fiber doors, fuel cell, completely done interior and a Vortech supercharger for good measure. Another Honda that had people scratching their heads was an EF Honda Civic from Power Rev Racing. These guys decided to stuff the 3.0L V6 Honda engine (typically found in the NSX) into the little EF and turbo charge the sucker! Yet another crazy Honda swap to add to the ever-growing list.
A note worthy presence was the abundant amount of luxury and exotic cars present. From a beautiful fully pimped BMW M6 to an eye opening orange Lamborghini Gallardo, these cars had the crowd in sensory overload. Back that up with plenty of vendors, GM, Valvoline, Falken Tires, HP Designs wheels, Fuzion Tires, XM Radio, to name just a few, and you’ve got plenty to see all night long.
However, HIN isn’t just about the cars, oh no the other critical portion to its popularity are the gross amount of gorgeous models. You can’t walk more than ten steps without running into one of these fine looking ladies. As always the Modified Mag M Lounge was the hot spot were scores of models were hanging out, signing posters, and having their pictures taken.
As the show wrapped so did another year of Hot Import Nights. With a wildly successful ’06 calendar we can only expect this year to be even better. Make sure to find out when HIN rolls into your town it’s a show you don’t want to miss.
