The 4th annual G35 Sedan Get Together (GTG) was held at Tanabe and SSR Wheels' U.S. Headquarters in Torrance, California. This gathering was first organized by a small group of G35 sedan owners from the G35Driver.com forum and has grown into a large meet and show for all vehicles utilizing the Nissan VQ series powerplant. This year there were nearly 100 vehicles consisting mostly of Gs, Zs, and GTRs, but also joined by a good showing of other imports such as BMW and Lexus.
Some of the best G35/37s on the West Coast look forward to attending this meet, and this year was no exception. Saturday morning the parking opened up to a long line of waiting cars twisting through the buildings and onto the city streets. Those who arrived early were able to sit back and watch the show drive by them. There was an excellent live DJ and Hawaiian barbecue on site for all to enjoy, and the California weather was just right.
Once the event began, the judges were busy working their way through the lines looking to hand out top honors for the best G coupes and sedans as well as additional awards for interior, engine bay, and a few for sponsor's choice. There was even a trophy handed out for the car owner who drove the furthest to attend the event.
As in previous years, a long list of great items was donated by several sponsors and raffled off to the attendees. Thousands of dollars in items were raffled off to eager onlookers followed by the awards ceremony in which several were rewarded for their amazing rides. The event organizers, Marcus Cooke and Chris Leiva, said it was a great success and the most memorable meet to date. Discussions have already started for next year's event and how to make it even better.
