Nisei Import Showoff Details:
Just like any other huge city, you'll always find different neighborhoods of different pockets of cultures. A great place to get lost is Los Angeles' Little Tokyo, where you'll find some of the best Japanese cuisine available such as sushi, takoyaki, udon, and ramen.
Little Tokyo also happens to be the home for the annual Japanese American festival Nisei Week that has a long history stemming from the early 1930s.
For one man, Ken Miyoshi, Nisei Week was the perfect outlet to bring his Import Showoff series. What many people don't know is that its humble beginnings began as a cruise around the city of Los Angeles before it became a full on car show.
Fast-forward to today and you'll notice the cars are at a higher caliber. What was a solely a JDM fest has evolved into an extensive show of different schools of building. From JDM, VIP, form, function, and everything in between. One of the amazing builds was Vollkommen's widebody Porsche.
Sure, you'll spend the afternoon sweating your ass off, but it's nothing a little shaved ice orCalpico can fix. Or if the heat doesn't bother you, the ramen festival close by will surely be worth it. It's one of those events that you want to come and soak in the sun, channel your inner foodie, and gawk at some dope cars.
