It feels like the show season is official now. Yeah, we’ve been hitting meets, like our Tech Day at the Petersen Museum in Los Angeles, and some other pretty big affairs, like Import Alliance in Ga., but there’s nothing like the first big show in your own backyard to put you in the right mindset. And this year setting the tone in the greater LA area is AutoCon, which moved into the Convention Center in downtown to stage its barnburner of an enthusiast gathering.
The event covers the spectrum of modified cars, and we’ll be bringing you the show from all sides, but this particular post focuses only on Nissan and its iterations, the luxury Infiniti brand and Nissan before it was Nissan, which is to say Datsun. There were some truly inspired 300ZX, like Roy Quintana’s and Nelson Ugarte’s, and a ton of Skyline (even a wagon!), not to mention oodles of the much newer R35 GT-R. Brian Dizon’s hot pink 350Z on Work Meisters made our heart skip a beat, as did Arash’s Q50 (no last name given), and being kids from the ‘90s ourselves we really gravitated to builds like Luis Caballero’s 240SX and Fausto Montano’s S14 Silvia, the latter on some pretty rare Blitz wheels.
It was good show, and we’ve got lots more photos and video on the way, but for now get your fill of Nissan in our gallery!
