Cali killed it again. While the rest of the US hibernated for December, the greater SoCal region rose up for one of the biggest shows in 2011—Automotive Connection, or AutoCon for short.
We thought it would be some dinky gathering since the date was so close to Christmas, but we ended up running out of time and sunlight at the end of the day. 500+ strong rolled into El Toro Field including drift, stanced and street cars. Interestingly, we noticed AutoCon was a show more for the enthusiasts without all the gimmicks and fancy performances. It had a grassroots feeling, was very laidback and we enjoyed spending our Saturday afternoon with some of the West Coast’s finest.
