Stay HI, Stay Fly

If you think Hawaii is only good for honeymoons, Mai Tais and Spam, think again. Over the last year, we’ve been making Honolulu a regular stop on our Super Street tour and it’s been worth it. The island’s scene continues to surprise us with quality project cars and we also meet more hardcore enthusiasts each time we visit. So this past summer, we returned for SpoCom’s third consecutive Hawaii show at Blaisdell Exhibition Hall.

SpoCom is Hawaii’s only indoor show. You might think it’s crazy to be indoors in the 808-state but it’s comfortable to stay away from the heat, wind, humidity and sometimes-occasional drizzle. This year’s show was a beautiful sight with around 150 of Oahu’s best rides. There was also a huge support from all the local vendors, plus the guys from Drive Energy flew out to give away free cans and samples of its new drink. Add in a go-go and bikini contest, fashion show and a new exhibition for sneaker whores and collectors to buy, sell and trade their latest kicks, you have one of Hawaii’s hottest (and one of our favorite) events.
