It was the first (but definitely not the last) Wekfest show held in the Atlantic Time zone this past August. Wekfest East embarked on its grand voyage for what’s become one of the best events we can honestly say that we’ve attended in years—and it wasn’t just because we spent the weekend in New York City!
The dope thing about all the Wekfest events is that it’s about quality rather than quantity. Instead of letting any random car owner park their hooptie in the show, organizers narrow down from a list of applicants that’s three-to-four times the amount of space given. In the case of this Jersey show, 310 cars were selected from nearly 900 cars that applied! It was a job well done by the staff and car builders as we found ourselves stoppin’ and starin’ at almost every vehicle. It was also impressive to see the dedication of some of these participants—we ran into several guys who travelled as far as Chicago and the Carolinas.
Wekfest East brought it big and we give everyone involved props who made this first-time event the shit. As a proud partner of Wekfest, we look forward to the last show in Texas this year and the 2013 season!
