Super Street At LeMay Part 2: Through The Lens Of @renz.jpg

Photographer Renz Dimaandal makes his first trip to Seattle to shoot our inaugural Northwest car show

I've competed and displayed at a number of car shows to know that getting a bad parking space really sucks. It truly ruins the entire experience, plus it doesn't make for great photos. So, with the first-ever Super Street at LeMay event, I had a vision to give each display car owner enough room that you could walk 360-degrees around their car without interruption. There was no real floor plan, and it required me to position vehicles by simply eyeballing. It made for a bit of organized chaos during roll-in, but it all turned out wonderful.

Unfortunately, it required narrowing registrations down from 300 to 120, but hopefully folks can appreciate quality over quantity in this case. Every featured car at a car show deserves their time, space, and place in the spotlight.

You can check out some of my photos here, but I also invited our young, blossoming photographer, Renz Dimaandal to help position some of the vehicles and capture the event using his artistic vision. Here are the first 50 photos that he's edited for us, but stay tuned for more later this week! Also don't forget to check out the first teaser video by Samuel Rojas.

The Ultimate Award Best of Show went to Terry Suvonnarith and his 2001 Acura Integra. His engine bay, among other things, was simply flawless, and his DC2 was featured in Honda Tuning back in 2010! Who wants to see him featured in the next Super Street Honda issue?!

I first saw Victor Ho's 1978 Honda Civic a couple years ago at a Wekfest show. It was a pleasure to have him at our event, visiting from Canada, and to see things like his custom widebody and his chrome and polished turbocharged D16ZC engine bay in person.
