For those unfamiliar with Targa Trophy, it's a West Coast rally resembling Gumball and Bull Run except with a technical twist and a larger diversity of cars.
Participants have to make certain checkpoints and finish the course at a specific time and mileage. The first leg of Targa started last July in the heart of Hollywood, CA. At the same time, the annual SoCal Euro GTG was moved to the starting line of the event to create a spectacular viewing of high performance cars with the W Hotel Hollywood as the backdrop.
The same formula took place a couple weeks ago as the second leg of Targa invaded the Bay area. The streets of downtown San Francisco were shut down in front of the W Hotel as 40+ Targa competitors showcased their beautiful rides. An adjoining car expo with more than 400 Euros created a similar vibe of the SoCal event.
We'd like to congratulate Alex Andonian who won the Targa event in his '08 BMW 335i. Alex is a familiar face in eurotuner. His '05 Audi A4 was featured back in et 12/07 (http://www.eurotuner.com/featuredvehicles/eurp_0712_2005_audi_a4_2_t_quattro/index.html).
Targa Trophy will close out the 2010 Triple Crown Series on November 5-6 in Las Vegas, NV for the Desert Challenge, just following the '10 SEMA Show. Both an event winner and Triple Crown winner will be crowned at this event. More information to be released on www.targatrophy.com
