E3 or the Entertainment Electronics Expo is one of the world's largest trade shows for the latest video games and products. Held in the Los Angeles Convention Center, this event attracts thousands of gaming fans, game companies, industry analysts, and business partners from across the globe. This year, the big news is Microsoft's Xbox One and Sony's Playstation 4 that are set to square off once again in the latest console war. But gaming gearheads fear not as it also marked the unveiling of what look to be some epic real-world and arcade driving titles.

Where else can car enthusiasts take a hundred thousand dollar exotic, lap it around the world's best track an infinite amount of times or wreck it into a wall without consequence? Gaming gives us that opportunity. And to our pleasure, 2013 is going to mark some big releases for the driving game fanatics. Two of the big dog racing simulators are Gran Turismo 6 and Forza Motorsports 5. Visually, both look beautiful. The developers spent plenty of time dialing in the physics and details of the driving experience and it shows (see trailer).

Gran Turismo 6 worked with Yokohama for its tire model, while Forza Motorsports went with Pirelli. One of the biggest differences between the two is that Gran Turismo 6 will be available only for the PS3 while Forza Motorsports 5 is completely designed for the Xbox 1.. Both of the game's official release dates are still to be announced, but we're guessing around the holidays.

Need for Speed Rivals is latest in the best selling video game series. The developers returned to the idea of "cops and robbers" that helped make the initial titles so much fun. Players can choose to become a cop or a street racer with each role including different objectives. Need for Speed Rivals will be available on November 19, 2013 for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Xbox 1.

If race simulators aren't your Ubisoft's upcoming game, The Crew may be of interest. This exciting Massively Multiplayer Online (MMO) release is a revolutionary action-driving game that takes the player through an open world version of the U.S. Think a Need for Speed map times a million. Different challenges are given to the players depending on location. Of course it's a shrunken scale of the U.S. so you can drive from coast to coast in two hours. Or "fast travel" to a different location such as New York or San Francisco to save time. The Crew will be a Next Gen Exclusive meaning it will only be available on the Xbox 1 and Playstation 4 consoles. Expect a release date some time next year
