Maserati Quattroporte GTS - Tokyo Auto Salon 2017

One of the finer things in life lands in Tokyo

In the early '60s, Maserati debuted something that had never really been seen before, a luxury sports sedan. Dubbed the Quattroporte, at the time it was fitted with a V8 heart and earned the honor of being the fastest sedan on earth. Best of all, it made its jam while the car's pilot called the shots in the lap of luxury with luscious interior treatments.

The model itself has remained Maserati's flagship over the years, though you may not have seen or heard much of it because it simply isn't a very common vehicle. Exclusivity accompanied by the need for a rather sizeable income both makes sure of that.

So when we stumbled across a GTS model on the floor of Tokyo's biggest automotive event, we were intrigued. When we saw the aftermarket wheels, blacked out grill, and ultra-low stance, we had to grab a little footage of the twin-turbo V8-powered sedan.
