Round 4 Formula D: Las Vegas - Vegas Baby Vegas

Scene: Round 4 Formula D: Las Vegas Motor Speedway, NV

As if Vegas didn't already have enough attractions with the all of the gambling, clubs, bars, shows and professionals, Formula D always finds a way to get in the mix. This season's Round 4 happened in Vegas, but definitely doesn't stay in Vegas.

With triple-digit temperatures, the event was pushed off to start later in the day, meaning spectators and cars didn't have to endure the grueling desert heat.

It was Z versus Z, when Chris Forsberg's NOS Engergy 350Z went up against Tyler McQuarrie's Falken 350Z. In the end, Forsberg won and took the 3rd place trophy. This left Ryuji Miki and his A'PEXi/Hankook built RX-7 to take on Tanner Foust's Rockstar Scion tC. And as much as I love FDs this one just couldn't beat out Foust. The Scion took home it's first 1st place trophy, leaving Miki with an admirable 2nd place position. Before you start laughing and hating on rotaries, the Rockstar Scion tC isn't your typical tC you find driven by cute college girls. Not only is this tC RWD, it houses a fully-built TRD V8.

"The Rockstar team and I went from zero- to-hero after failing to qualify for the main competition last event," said Tanner Foust, "I am so proud of my team and they worked hard to fix the issues. I now feel comfortable and feel that this car has more potential than the Nissan 350Z ever had."

As we move into Round 5 of the drift season, Chris Forsberg leads in first place with 307 points. Ryan Tuerck and Samuel Hubinette follow closely behind with 294 and 271 points respectively.

This season of Formula D is far from over and the championship is still up for grabs.
