For the first time in Tuner GP history, AccuAir, air suspension specialists located in San Luis Obispo, CA, participated and showcased its new Sport suspension kit. The newcomers partnered with TAG Motorsports in Escondido, CA to prepare a 2013 Audi S4 for the event. TAG handled all of the performance and transmission upgrades.
Alex Andonian, TAG Motorsports representative said, “We have all of the AWE power goodies on here and the new Accuair complete solution air setup. We’ve tested this air suspension system against coilovers and it performed just as well. We are driving a street car, we did not do anything out of the ordinary for this event. We expect it to be very competitive against the other track cars. Out of the hole this thing is a rocket ship.”
Despite some issues with the DSG and traction control, AccuAir’s AWD S4 put down a respectable 387.5hp and 353.1 lb-ft of torque at the dyno. The numbers were made possible by an AWE Tuning supercharger pulley, intake, downpipe and exhaust.
According to AccuAir, its main objective is to prove that air suspension isn’t strictly for stance. To find out how AccuAir fared at the drag race and fastest lap competition, read the full story in our February 2014 issue.
