Chuckwalla Valley Raceway played host to the third round of the HT Cup Challenge (HTCC), a round that saw a few newcomers to the competition. Newcomers like Tom "Tom-Attak" Liang, a highly experienced driver with a lethal K-powered hatch that battled from the back of the pack, right up to the very front. Hit with a 10-second penalty due to a lack of registration and a sizeable weight advantage, Tom put on a show and landed himself in the number four spot after just one event.
Bad luck struck Joseph Bundalian as his B18C snapped its timing belt during the event, but even with the hiccup, Joseph still managed to remain at the number six spot.
The lone rear wheel drive entry, Jason Kim in his S2000, put on a solid performance and with 30 overall points is holding strong in Second Place.
Honda Tuning feature car owner KJ Valle, in his '99 Civic sedan, faced a major hurdle in running this particular configuration at CVR for his very first time. He was no doubt up to the challenge and at the end of the day, is holding the top spot in the points race with 36 overall.
Round 4 is the final stop before the finals, and with the newcomers and a few no shows shaking up the standings, it's anyone's title to capture!
