Joe Yang of Trinity Autosport started his business from home, but in 2008 he opened a shop in Tustin, CA and has been building M3s and M5s ever since. Yang brought the company’s daily driver, a 2008 BMW M3 to the event, fitted with a VF-Engineering VF620 supercharger, CKS struts, Swift springs and an APR wing.
Nerwyll Malabanan, Trinity Autosport representative said, “Our E92 M3 is a daily driver and for the track on the weekend. It was mainly built for the track so we are hoping to do well in the circuit portion.”
When asked what Trinity Autosport’s advantage was over the others, Joe cited the car’s power. At the dyno, the M3 put down an impressive 568.1hp and 383.9 lb-ft of torque.
The team nailed it at the dyno, but what about the track? Yang had to fight against pro drivers and hoped for a lap time under 1:30. Read the full story in the February 2014 issue to find out how the team stacked up.
