None of us like to think about it, but have you ever tallied up how much coin you drop on a typical weekend out living in California? Dining out with the girl, drinks with the crew, maybe hitting the slopes or elsewhere in the great outdoors? There's a certain corollary to this: The more fun the weekend, the more you're likely to spend -- not just in doing it, but in preparing for it. But that rule bows to Extreme Speed Track Events and VTEC Club Competition.
Think of Extreme Speed (as it's loosely called) as Redline Time Attack's fun, track-day weekend event series. For a very reasonable price (including perks like discounts on nearby hotels), Extreme Speed invites virtually any driver to enjoy a weekend of assaulting either Willow Springs International Test Circuit or Buttonwillow Raceway in a fun, laid-back, timed-but-un-judged atmosphere. Multiple run groups accommodate all, regardless of track-driving experience or vehicle make/model/modification, and there's plenty of track time to go around.
Now, if you're a Honda driver (as you should be!) operating at select Extreme Speed events is the VTEC Club Competition series, with two seasons of judged competition in various classes for 2015, complete with sponsor giveaways, hijinks and tomfoolery, Honda camaraderie, and some actual heated competition. Which, if you get lucky, could actually put money (or equivalent product value) into your pocket, and result in as much or more crew/girl/outdoor fun than anywhere else. Girls love race weekends, remember that.

Season two of VTEC Club Competition begins July18th at Streets of Willow, which leaves you with plenty of Extreme Speed track days to get dialed in.
