If you regularly organize any sort of outdoor, car-related venture, or you've done so in the past, you're probably more paranoid about cooperation from Mother Nature than any other aspect of your event. With the ability to essentially make or break your hours of hard work and your reputation, if there's any chance of spoiling your plans, you spend an unhealthy amount of time viewing up-to-the-minute weather updates while keeping your fingers crossed. It's a nightmare and one that HDay event creators, OGS1320, recently had to face leading up to their huge Fall 2018 event, presented by BC.
Things weren't looking great weather-wise for the drag race and car show set to hit Maryland International Raceway the weekend of September 15 and 16. The two-day affair, threatened by Hurricane Florence as it put pressure on the venue, had everyone involved, from hopeful attendees to staff, bracing for the worst. What seemed like an eternity, the week leading up to opening day would be the determining factor, and on September 13th an official statement was released letting fans know that the event was in fact on, rain or shine. The gamble paid off, as Florence took a break and the skies remained clear enough for HDay Fall to be yet another hit for the OGS1320 team, who's event resume is packed with events up and down the East Coast.
While the drag racing and car show are the main attractions, HDay is also blanketed by vendor booths showing their latest parts while chatting with attendees - their display/demo cars doing their best to grab some of the massive crowd. Beyond that, however, most have their eye on the giveaway car that HDay raffles off to one lucky winner. That's right, a free car, and it's not a stock car, but rather a modded version of a Honda or Acura that vendors and local shops pitch in to build for the occasion. In this instance, the giveaway was a RHD del Sol with Transtop, powered by a B-series heart, and painted a fresh coat of white with custom graphics throughout the bay. Spoon calipers, Rays Gram Lights, and more, all included with the car that someone would drive home with that weekend, free and clear.
Anticipation as the finalists in the del Sol giveaway each try a key they're given. Only the winner's key will start the car and no one knows who's holding it until that B-series turns over.

Spoon had a heavy presence at the show with a booth and multiple cars on display and their brand colors and logo could be found throughout the event.
Arguably the main ingredient of the HDay series, drag racing is an integral part of the series' success. This boosted, RHD Integra sports a Sheepey Race intercooler and a widened front end.
The Matt Monday and the 4Piston Racing crew picked up the All Motor win along with the lowest E.T. of the day with a 9.59 seconds at 138.03mph.
The FK8 infiltrated events like HDay from its initial release and are only picking up steam as more new owners jump into the driver seat and start modding.
