The 15th annual DSM/EVO Shootout started off with a lot of promise as record amounts of DSM and EVO-philes rolled into Buschur Racing, the site of Saturdays festivities. With the main street blocked off droves of diamond star powered vehicles provided loyalists a glimpse into what the countries finest had to offer. Meanwhile the dyno was spinning overtime inside the Buschur facility to crown a horsepower champion. This year Al Friedman took home the trophy with 817whp after Dave Buschur lost a coin toss to him and didn’t put the shop car on the dyno.

With the amazing turnout and awesome cars, everyone was stoked for Sunday’s drag racing. Unfortunately, for the first time in Shootout history, it got rained out. Massive downpour all day long meant there was no hopes in salvaging the final portion of the shootout and it had to be cancelled. On the bright side, Bushur is looking at re-scheduling the drag racing portion for sometime later in the year.
