Throughout the year, there are many events that we as auto enthusiasts hear about and would love to attend, but some, such as the annual Z Nationals event hosted by Z1 Motorsports, cannot be missed. It is the best place for people to eat, sleep, and breathe everything Z.

A Friday night cruise kicked off Z1 Motorsports’ 7th annual event, beginning in the parking lot of the Z1 Motorsports complex. Pulling out with an epic caravan of more than 80 highly modified and stock restored cars, this was one for the Z Nationals record books. The caravan headed straight for the heart of the South. The insider’s tour of the streets of downtown Atlanta and the city’s unique urban backdrop provided some rare photo opportunities for participants.

Saturday morning marked the official start of the largest Z Nationals event ever, as Z cars, Gs, and GTRs of all generations lined up around the block, patiently waiting to get into the gates at Z1. Guests were greeted with the hum of finely tuned exhausts echoing through the air, as some heavy hitters did last-minute tuning for the dyno competition. The car wash station was a popular spot all morning, as cars that made the long trek had a chance to clean up and prep for the car show.

As soon as the lot filled, judging for the 7th annual Z Nationals car show began. The competition for the car show was fierce, with Judges’ Choice and the highly coveted People’s Choice awards at stake. The smell of race gas and cheers from the crowd enticed people to the dyno bay, where Z1 Motorsports staff worked at NASCAR pit crew pace to test and record more than 40 participants. With many cars claiming more than 600 rwhp, the competition was as good if not better than in years past.

More than $40,000 in prizes were given away at Saturday night’s awards banquet and dinner, while Sunday capped off an amazing weekend with a full track day at Atlanta Motor Speedway. If you’re interested in attending what is an essential experience for Nissan enthusiasts, registration is now open at
