With only one qualifying round left before our Time Attack finals, we trekked our way up to Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, CA. We'll give you a moment to run all the wine and fine cheese jokes through your head. You can view the huge outcome as a good or bad thing. Good because that shows how many die-hard road racers want to qualify for our finals in Buttonwillow. Bad because there were nearly 60 cars on the track at one time. Nonetheless James Sofronas (Porsche GT Cup) and Tyler McQuarrie (JIC S15 Silvia) were banking on fools lap after lap after lap, clocking in times that ranged from two to ten seconds faster than the competition. That's a lifetime when it comes to Time Attack. It also helped that Tyler is an instructor at Infineon and has over 8,000 laps logged on the magnificent track, knowing the lines like we know side streets to the office. The Falken crew even showed up, rig and all, to provide support for Calvin Wan's personal RX-7. Also, Yokohama set up their display with a badass JDM Evo. Fortunately, no cars in our qualifying rounds broke down or had any major crashes. Next up, our Battle Royal finals in Buttonwillow where all the big dogs come to throw down.
