Formula D Drift Series - Strong Beach

Here, in this corner of the country, lies the Streets of Long Beach, a racetrack good enough for racing series like IndyCar and the American Le Mans Series. It's also the kick-off point for the Formula D drift series. Screeching tires and high horsepower engines echo between the buildings and wake up the entire city. This is absolutely the most exciting venue that the Formula D circuit does every year.

Making sure everyone had a good time, Formula D teamed up with Fatlace to bring you the One of One car show. Fatlace's Hellaflush styles filled the show with everything from old school Corollas to big body VIP cars. Vendor booths, models, DJs and open pits were all available to the audience all day long.

At the end of the day when the smoke cleared up, it was Vaughn Gitten and his new carbon-fiber body 2011 Mustang taking first place. Rhys Millen and his Hyundai Genesis came in second with Tanner Foust in his Scion tC coming in third. New cars and drivers came into this season, while many of last year's cars were redesigned with new sponsors and livery.

This must have been the largest drift event I've been to. The bleachers and car show were all full, and everywhere I looked there were tons of people. Overall attendance was amazing. Formula D came out hella strong in Long Beach.
