The Focus Frenzy Class is a new offering in the Fun Ford Weekend series. This division is grassroots racing featuring Ford's smallest offering waging war bracket style. Racing is conducted on a .500 full tree and the competition is fierce, despite many competitors running near-stock vehicles. There were some good e.t.s laid down in the qualifying rounds.

Top dog on the ladder was Tom Lesperance of Gastonia, N.C. who put the hurt on the 22 other Focuses trying to make the show by blasting a 13.48. His number one run also broke into triple digits at an impressive 102 mph. Justin Landon of Fort Worth, Texas was number two qualifier with a 13.69 at 99 mph. Third on the grid was Robert Edens of Calcasieu, La. with a 14.05 at 98 mph.

Bracket racing is all about car knowledge and consistency. You're allowed to change your dial-in for each round, which allows the savviest of racers to adjust dial-in based on the weather and track temperature.

Speedy was super consistent and may have intimidated his final round opponent into a red light.
